A brief word on footnotes:
According to the revelation of the Bible and the confirmation in history, in every age God has had His special work on earth among His created people, and for the accomplishment of this special work. He has raised up special men, chosen and perfected by Him to meet this special need. These men have spoken and written to accomplish their ministry as described in Ephesians 4:11 with the effect of "perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry, unto the building up of the Body of Christ." The footnotes in any study Bible should minister the Word of God to perfect us to directly build up the Body of Christ. All sound teaching allows the scripture to stand fast in the authority and soundness of the apostles' teaching while making the scriptures understandable and nourishing to perfect us.

No footnotes should ever be considered higher than the direct authority of the scriptures in the Holy Bible. The value of footnotes in any study Bible, assist the reader of the scriptures in comprehending the meaning of the biblical text. How well a study Bible does this job varies according to the students' personal and subjective view and, of course, their interest and effort.
