The Two Issues out of the Throne (Part 2 of 2)
- Introduction
- At our last meeting November 14th, we looked at the issue of fire out of the throne that eliminates and purifies to fulfill God's will. If the Lord is with us, all of us should be left with a deep impression that the throne has always ruled, is ruling now and will rule for eternity. Another way to say this, especially using the sign of the New Jerusalem in Revelation chapter 21 and 22, is that there has always been a flow issuing from the throne of God and there will always be such an issue. We will explore today the flow of Life that issues from the throne.
- The issue of fire has its positive and negative aspects. The positive aspect is to purify. Water can be purified by fire. The negative aspect is termination. Fire is the ultimate destroyer, making repair impossible.
- This week we will see how the Life aspect of the throne has been continually offered to man. The first man refused the flow of God in the tree of Life. His refusal resulted in man being barred from God's life. In the coming and the work of Jesus Christ we see that his reward and eternal destiny will depend upon mans response to God's second offer. God's economy is to dispense the eternal life contained in His being into the created man to produce the kingdom and eventually consummate in the New Jerusalem. This city dispenses the eternal life of the Lamb into all the redeemed ones for eternity resulting in a universally bright city. (The bride of the Lamb) This week we will review the Old and New Testaments to see how this flow from the throne increases until God eternal purpose through Christ and with man is accomplished.
- In the Old Testament
- God wanted man to partake of the tree of Life by his own free will.
- The temple in the city of Jerusalem, (that is called "the city of God") was supplied by a spiritual river.
Psalm 46:4 There is a river whose streams gladden the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. - God's people made some bad choices.
Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew out for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns, which hold no water. - God's water produced outward physical and spiritual blessings in the Old Testament and caused men to appreciate both Him and His thrones authority.
Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water upon the thirsty land, and streams upon the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit upon your seed, and my blessing upon your offspring. - The temple built when the kingdom was established in Israel, was destroyed because of the harlotry of God's people, and then recovered by the return of God's people to build it, issued water out of it.
Ezekiel 47:5-9 Then he measured a thousand cubits; and it was a river that I could not pass through; for the waters had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be crossed. And he said unto me, Son of man, have you seen this? Then he led me, and brought me back along the bank of the river. And when I had returned, there were very many trees on the bank of the river, on the one side and on the other. Then said He to me, This water flows out toward the eastern region, and goes down into Arabah and goes to the sea; when it flows into the sea, the water of the sea is healed. And every living creature which swarms in every place where the rivers goes shall live, and there will be very many fish when this water comes there, and everything shall live wherever the river comes. - In the New Testament
- The Throne comes in a Man and includes the water of eternal life.
John 12:44-45 - But Jesus cried out and said, He who believes into Me does not believe into Me, but into Him who sent Me; 45 And he who beholds Me beholds Him who sent Me
Hebrews 10:7 - Then I said, Behold, I have come (in the roll of the book it is written concerning Me) to do Your will, O God. - Christ Jesus comes with living water of eternal life.
John 4:10 - Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.
John 7:37-38 - Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. - The attributes of God are in this wonderful Spirit and can be ours.
- LOVE
Romans 15:30 - Now I exhort you, brothers, through our Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf - JOY
1 Thessalonians 1:6 - And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction with joy of the Holy Spirit - SANCTIFICATION
2 Thessalonians 2:13 - But we ought to thank God always concerning you, brothers beloved of the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth - MANY MORE
Galations 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law. - The New Jerusalem - The flow out of the throne of God and of the Lamb continues.
Revelation 22:12.5-6 - And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street.
Revelation 22:21-2 - And on this side and on that side of the river was the tree of life, producing twelve fruits, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.
Revelation 22:32-4 - And there will no longer be a curse. And the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His slaves will serve Him.
