The Spoken Word
- Introduction
- Last week we traced how God moved and even used His enemy to bring men beginning about 500 years ago to read his word and to begin bring forth recovery of the truth that had been lost during the time that is now called the "dark ages." No doubt it was dark because the word was not available.
- There are two kinds of "words" in the Bible. There is the Greek word logos which means the constant and unchanging word that is written in black and white and which we call the Bible. We will study this matter this week. Then there is also the spoken word. In the Greek language it is the word rhema which means "spoken word." Last week we covered some of the verses in the New Testament that reveal this "spoken" word and you can look on our website to review it in case you missed it.
- This spoken word was given to the disciples of Jesus Christ while he was a man on the earth and truly were the "words of life". In resurrection Jesus Christ became "the life-giving Spirit" as stated in 1 Corinthians 15:45. Lord speak to us daily and often! Amen!
