Christ on His Being All-Inclusive (Part 1 of 2)

  1. Introduction
    1. The challenge that we are faced with in the final two meetings this semester is to see at least in an initial way that the Christ whom we have believed in and whom we love is, in fact, "All-Inclusive." To Say that Christ is "All-Inclusive" may seem at first be somewhat of an overstatement. However, once the entire Bible is studied it soon becomes obvious that Christ is revealed in both the Old and New Testament as the One sent by God, and eventually the One to become the believer's "all in all."
    2. If you study the 66 books of the Bible it is easy to find at least 300 items concerning what the Lord Jesus is. Some of these items are: His being God and man, the Redeemer, the Savior, life, resurrection, the Body, the new man, the Priest, the Prophet, the King, the Counselor, power, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and many more.
    3. We will also see clearly that Jesus Christ is both God and man. In Colossians Paul wrote confidently that He is "the image of the invisible God" and that "in Him all things were created." Furthermore, He "is the fullness of the Godhead bodily" and "in Him, all the fullness was pleased to dwell." May the Lord enlighten the Word in our study today.
  2. Crucial verses and footnotes in the New Testament Recovery Version Bible.
    1. Matthew 1:11 - The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
    2. Hebrews 1:34 - Who, being the effulgence of His glory and the impress of His substance and upholding and bearing all things by the word of His power, having made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high
