The Riches of God's Salvation - The Blood of Christ, Part 1
- A Quick Review
- In previous weeks we have seen (1) God's selection, (2) predestination which was decided by God.
- In the last two weeks we saw first that redemption means to "pay a price" to "buy back" man from being in sin and unrighteousness. Christ's purchase on the cross was complete and purchased not only one man, but a people for a unique possession. Last week we learned about propitiation. In this action by the high priest in the Old Testament, the blood of an animal was sprinkled upon the lid of the ark, which was called the place of propitiation. This was the place that man could meet with God and God with man. Christ Jesus, after resurrection ascended to the third heavens, appeared at the throne as a lamb "as having just been slain" (Revelation 5:6).
- We will see the tremendous impact the blood of Christ has had in the universe, and personally on our own salvation.

- Questions for discussion only! (There are no right and wrong answers)
- What are the similarities and differences in the use of the blood in the Old Testament (the old covenant) and in the New Testament (the new covenant)?
- Why does it say in Revelation 12:10-11 that the accuser (Satan, or here the old serpent) is overcome by the blood?
- What is the hint in more than one verse in the book of Revelation, chapter 22, that the blood is still in effect even after we have been glorified in our bodies and we are free from sin?
