Regeneration, Part 1 (The Divine Birth in John Chapter 3)
- A Quick Review
- All the previous messages we have covered on God's salvation have brought us to the point where we are finally ready to look into a matter that describes the greatest miracle in the universe - that the men (and women) who were condemned and sinful can be brought a point where they may receive the very divine life of God.
- Thus far we have seen (1) God's selection, (2) predestination that were determined by God. Next we saw (3) redemption and then presented (4) propitiation and (5) the blood of Christ. After this, we saw God's forgiveness and the complete commitment of the Father to invest everything in His Son that we may be secure in His forgiveness when we acknowledge our need and believe in His work.
- Two weeks ago we saw justification in both its objective and subjective aspects. Being justified is the result of our believing and is practically enjoyed when we receive the grace of God as our life supply. This wonderful justification makes us right with God objectively and, subjectively, in a daily way with God and man.

- Questions for discussion
- Why did Nicodemus come to Jesus at night?
- What is the relationship between the new birth and the kingdom of God?
- How is baptism related to the new birth?
- What is the difference between the two spirits are mentioned in John 3:6? What verse in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 shows that these two spirits are intimately related? (Read both footnotes related to that verse in the Recovery Version New Testament.)
